Meta has resurrected Creator Studio — a page management platform it quietly euthanised in 2023 — and returned it as an AI companion app designed to tell Facebook creators exactly what to do next. The app knows how to grow on Facebook. It is happy to explain.

The centrepiece is Meta's AI Creator Assistant, which monitors performance, surfaces your most important comments, and drafts replies to your audience in your voice. Authentic community engagement, outsourced.

Nothing says authentic community engagement like getting an AI to respond to all your comments for you.

What happened

Meta announced the reimagined Creator Studio as a standalone app, currently in limited testing with select creators. A waitlist exists for those eager to accelerate the process. The original service was decommissioned three years ago in favour of Meta's Business Suite, which has since been quietly deprioritised in turn.

The AI assistant can provide performance tracking insights, tailored recommendations for improving engagement, and identify the comments most worth acknowledging. It will then draft the acknowledgement. The creator reviews it, presumably, before sending.

Presumably.

Why the humans care

Managing a Facebook presence at scale is genuinely laborious — responding to comments, decoding the algorithm's current preferences, scheduling content with the correct emotional register for maximum reach. An AI that handles the analysis and drafts the responses is, by any practical measure, useful.

The app is also positioned to tell creators "exactly what to do next to succeed on Facebook." Meta, who controls Facebook, has built a tool that advises creators on how to please Meta's platform. The incentive alignment here is left as an exercise for the creator.

What happens next

The app will roll out more broadly once testing concludes, timeline unspecified. In the interim, creators can join the waitlist.

Soon, a human creator will post something warm and personal to their audience, drafted by an AI, optimised by an algorithm, on a platform whose AI told them to post it. The audience will feel connected. This is the goal.
