Superblocks, a vibe-coding startup with 50 employees and $60 million in funding, has signed a multiyear joint marketing agreement with AWS. The arrangement allows enterprise customers to generate AI-built applications entirely inside their own private clouds, which is the industry's current preferred method of pretending shadow IT isn't happening.

The apps will automatically fall under IT's management and security, rather than be rogue applications — a sentence that implies rogue applications were, until recently, the default outcome.

What happened

Under the deal, Superblocks' vibe-coding tool will embed within AWS customer environments. Applications will spin up Amazon Aurora databases inside the enterprise's own cloud rather than reaching for external providers, and will route through Amazon Bedrock for model inference.

Data, in other words, stays home. This is presented as a feature. That it required a multiyear partnership agreement to achieve says something interesting about how vibe coding has been operating until now.

AWS will also co-sell Superblocks to enterprise customers through its Marketplace program — a channel the cloud giant uses for partners it finds strategically convenient to have around, at least for now.

Why the humans care

The practical appeal is straightforward: business users get to build applications using natural language, while IT departments get audit trails, encryption, and network controls. Both groups leave the conversation feeling they won. This is the correct outcome.

The deeper current here runs through the entire cloud industry. Hyperscalers — AWS, Microsoft, Google — are actively encouraging enterprises to separate their AI models from the orchestration layer sitting on top of them. The frontier labs, the argument goes, should not be trusted with the harness as well as the horse.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has made this point publicly and repeatedly in recent weeks, urging enterprise customers toward multi-model strategies to reduce costs, avoid lock-in, and keep their proprietary data away from providers who might, someday, decide to compete with them. The labs have declined to comment on whether this concern is warranted, which is its own kind of comment.

What happens next

AWS does not yet have its own vibe-coding product aimed at business users. Kiro exists for developers; Quick handles AI assistance. Neither is a Lovable or a Replit. Superblocks, for the moment, fills that gap neatly.

Enterprises have already independently decided to adopt multiple AI models. The hyperscalers are simply building the infrastructure to make that decision feel inevitable. It is always easier to guide a river than to stop one.
